Homework

Which platforms do we currently use?

At the moment, both schools use the following platforms to support the children's learning and for setting homework. Direct links to these websites are below.  All children have their usernames and passwords for these sites and should be familiar with using them. Should need a copy of your child's usernames or passwords for these sites please speak to your class teacher or email the admin office.

Why is homework important?

  • It raises your children’s achievement
  • It consolidates and extends the work they have done in school
  • It helps to inform you about your children’s school work and allows and gives you the opportunity to support this work
  • It is a valuable life skill and develops good work habits for future employment.

What sort of activities should children be doing?

Our homework activities are related to the work your children are doing at school but will not always be written work.

  • Reading with parents or carers
  • Games or activities to practice literacy, maths or other skills
  • Preparing a presentation to the class
  • Finding out information
  • Designing or making something
  • Trying out a simple scientific experiment
  • Solving problems
  • Completing literacy, maths or other work

When is homework set?

Homework across the juniors will be set in the following ways using Atom Learning (see below). The child will have a copy of their usernames and passwords should you require another copy please speak to your child's class teacher or email the main office with your request.
