At Oakridge Junior School, we support Hampshire’s Junior Road Safety Officer (JRSO) initiative.
Our JRSO team (Leah and Jake) lead on promoting road safety in a fun way; they are supported by Mrs Cameron.
This initiative gives our children the opportunity to lead on promoting road safety to their school community while getting serious road safety messages across. Activities carried out include:
Be bright dress up days
Competition to design a road safety mascot
Fun activities to ensure the road safety message
Leah and Jake attended the Annual Road Safety Conference in October which was organised by Hampshire County Council. On their return to school they have been sharing their knowledge with the rest of the school.
